Nick Currie aka "Momus"

Each week in class someone presents about an artist they find interesting from our book Ice Cream. Yesterday we learned a little bit about Nick Currie, who goes by the nickname "Momus". Momus is the greek god of mockery, which just from his nickname gives you an idea of what he is about. Although everything he does is kind of one big joke, he is sooo serious about his work. He considers him self a songwriter, artist, performer, and a pop star. We actually did find out that he has screaming girls following him around Japan, I guess he is a hit over there! He is so strange and interesting and very entertaining. He does have a eyepatch so that's kind of cool. He washed his contact with greek tap water, so the bacteria built up and took his eye out! Crazy! Another strange fact- he likes to be hooded. I find his music videos to be hilarious and would like to share a couple. If you are looking for something to do in your spare time, you can search  on  YouTube for more ridiculous videos. I don't want to make it seem like I think this guy's work is not worth viewing because he is actually extremely intelligent, which is probably why he is so crazy.

Pet Star and Mario Lopez (boooo!)

I have had the tv on while I've been working this morning. I happened to glance over because "Pet Star" came on and I heard the voice of Mario Lopez, which is kind of funny because I have that quote from "AC Slater" on my last post. And, by the way...Mario Lopez has really been annoying me lately. For some reason I can't stand him or his dimples. I loved him as AC Slater, of course. I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but when people interview him, he has a spanish accent, but then on all of these shows he does, no spanish accent! So, does he really have one but consciously chooses not to have it when he hosts shows? Or is he trying to be Spanish for the interviews, but really he doesn't have the accent at all? Just a little food for thought...

Anyways, there was a crazy flipping poodle on the show doing BACKFLIPS!!! Woah! Here is the video:

I have to get back to work, but I hope you enjoyed this!

Half shirt? Yes, please!

Um, ok, I was just doing some online shopping, and came across this little number.
There happened to be some excellent reviews, such as this one:

A.C. Slater
July 16, 2008
I wear this shirt when I go to The Max with that preppie, Zack Morris. After an ice cold chocolate shake, I met up with Jessie and totally got to second base.

Only 4 stars, though...Mr. Belding kept asking me to play tummy sticks. Otherwise, great shirt!

If I were a girl with a boyfriend who had a half shirt, I would really really wonder what the hell he was thinking! In the event that you are indeed in need of a half shirt you can purchase the one shown above at American Apparel.

Why do I want everything?

Today, we had some errands to run, which means spending money! We went to PetCo, Target, Sams, and somewhere else, but I can't remember. I always want everything everywhere I go. I am the kind of person who likes to go grocery shopping, just because it is an excuse to spend money and shop. Oh well...

We did get Reese a really great new "baby" (that is what we call his stuffed animal toys).

He doesn't get to have "babies" very often because he tries to eat the polyester guts, which clearly is not good for dogs to ingest. He looks very cute with his new baby though.

It is extremely annoying that I can get the text size, font, and color right for these posts. I am obsessed with getting things to look the way I want, but I am going to have to quit for today. Time to work...
Ok, so I am trying to some how get my blog posts to show up on my facebook so that my friends can then click to view them, but I don't know how to do that!! Maybe I will figure it out. Apparently it isn't as easy as I thought it would be.

My New Blog!

I have decided to create a blog to share anything and everything I like, love, or need (or have) with anyone who wishes to know. I am currently a student pursuing my MFA. I am working on creating an abstract film for my installation and have my first clip. I will of course only take parts of this and edit it to my liking. But for now, you can see it in the raw! I love birds and they have become a theme of my artwork this semester
